Recipe of the Day: Jamaican White Rice

White Rice is one of the most popular and one of the simplest dishes the world over. However, as simple as it might be to prepare, many people cannot get it right. Some cook it too soft, too hard, too dry, too burnt, and the list goes on. Today we give you an A-B-C recipe to get your White Rice cooked to perfection. This dish is also served as a side to our entrees at our restaurants, so this recipe will help you step up your rice cooking game restaurant style ;). Check it out below.

Preparation time: 10m
Cooking time: 30m

 

Ingredients

For 6 people

  • 3 1/2 cup(s) water
  • 2 tablespoon(s) Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 28 ounce(s) White Rice

Plain Rice Directions

Put water to boil, add vegetable oil and salt.

Wash Grace Rice and add to the boiling liquid.  Bring to a boil, reduce the flame and steam for 30 minutes or until rice grains are tender.  Flake with a fork.

To Serve:  Serve with Curried Chicken/Stew Chicken/Curried Goat and a Tossed Vegetable Salad.
